William Henry Harrison (1773-1841) was an American politician and in 1841 he was the ninth President of the United States.
After a military career, William Henry Harrison was a member of the House of Representatives from 1816 to 1819 and of the Senate from 1825 to 1828. In 1840 he won the presidential election as a candidate for the Whig Party.
Harrison was sworn in on March 4, 1841, but the cold during the inauguration ceremony caused him to contract pneumonia and die after only a month in office.
His grandson, Benjamin Harrison, became the 23rd President of the United States in 1889. Todays 3 cent stamp was issued in 1950. CV is less than one $.
