In 1851 the first newspaper stamps were issued. They depicted the roman god Mercury, who was god of shopkeepers and merchants, travelers and transporters of goods, and thieves and tricksters. He is commonly identified with the Greek Hermes, the fleet-footed messenger of the gods. Todays stamp is the blue 0,6 Kreuzer issue. CV is 120 €.
