The 13th country to issue stamps was Saxony. On 1. July1850 Saxony issued their first stamp, the iconic “Sachsen-dreier”. Todays stamp is very rare and expensive. The CV is no less than 10.000 €/$ for an unused copy and 8.600 €/$ for a used copy. Saxony was a kingdom from 1806 until 1918. It is now part of Germany.
