The 11th country to issue stamps was Victoria, a British colony, that is now part of Australia. On 3. January 1850 Victoria issued todays one penny stamp showing the portrait of Queen Victoria (1819-1901). She was Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland from 20. June 1837 until her death in 1901.
