Stamp Stories from around the world

Henri Matisse (1869-1954), born Henri-Émile-Benoît Matisse, was a French painter and printmaker. He was known for both his use of color as well as his shifty and original drawings. He was a draftsman, graphic artist and sculptor, but is known today primarily as a painter. In 1952, one of Henri Matisse’s most productive late years, he created a series of blue color lithographs using his cut out technique, titled Blue Nudes. Todays stamp is from France and is depicting the beautiful “Blue Nudes” by Matisse.
