On 10 June 1967, Princess Margrethe married Henri Marie Jean André Count de Laborde de Monpezat (1934-2018), who at the wedding was then titled His Royal Highness Prince Henrik of Denmark. The wedding took place in Holmens Church, and the wedding party was held at Fredensborg Castle.
