The Duchy of Modena and Reggio existed from the 16th century until 1860, when it became part of the united Italy. It is situated in the upper part of the Italian peninsula and the capital was the city of Modena. The Duchy issued its first five stamps on 1 June 1852. Today’s stamp is the issue with the denomination of 40 Centesimi (Cent)
