The Duchy of Parma and Piacenza existed from 1545 until 1859, when it became part of the united Italy. It is situated in the northern part of Italy and the capital was the city of Parma. The Duchy issued its first five stamps on 1 June 1852. Today’s stamp is the issue with the denomination of 5 Centesimi (Centes).
